About the role
As an HVK at Odin, you are not a paper-driven safety expert. You are visible in the operation, understand the work floor and translate real-world risks into clear choices for management and leadership. You bring calm, direction and structure to environments where safety, quality and continuity are under pressure.
You combine substantive depth with practical credibility. You can talk with management about risks, compliance and strategy, but you are just as comfortable next to technicians, foremen and operators to understand where procedures do or don't work.
You guide ISO programs, risk assessments, audits and incident investigations not as paper exercises, but as a means to make the operation safer, clearer and more controllable. You also coach our consultants, contribute to our methodology and provide practical input for the continued development of SIA.
What you do
- Visibly present on the work floor - You are regularly on site, talk with employees, observe activities and actively gather information from the field.
- Bringing calm and direction to the operation - You help organisations set priorities, control risks and take clear steps without unnecessarily slowing down the operation.
- Practically guiding ISO programs - You support ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and industry-specific standards, focused on workable processes and demonstrable application in practice.
- Conducting risk assessments, audits and workplace inspections - You assess not only documents, but above all how processes, risks and control measures actually function on the work floor.
- Incident investigation and structural improvement - You investigate incidents independently, uncover underlying causes and translate findings into measures that are genuinely workable.
- Advising management and teams - You are a sparring partner for management, project leadership, QSE coordinators and operational teams. You dare to be sharp where needed, while staying practical and solution-oriented.
- Coaching consultants and transferring knowledge - You guide medior consultants, share practical knowledge and help to further strengthen the Odin methodology.
- Helping build SIA - You bring signals from practice back to our QHSE platform, so SIA aligns with how organisations and employees actually work.
What you bring
Required:
- Completed Senior Safety Expert (HVK) degree
- At least 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 implementations
- Comfortable in conversations with management and QSE managers
- Driver's license B and flexibly deployable throughout the Netherlands
- Drive to help build SIA and the company
A plus:
- Lead Auditor certification (IRCA, RvA or comparable)
- Industry experience in industry, maritime or offshore
- Experience with data-driven QHSE work
- English communication at management level
- Affinity with product development or SaaS
- Entrepreneurial mindset, thinks in opportunities
What we offer
- € 5,500 - € 8,500 gross/month - Gross per month at 40 hours, excluding 8% holiday pay.
- 1-year contract + permanent - First a one-year contract, then permanent. Fulltime or parttime negotiable.
- Independent and in team - Plenty of own responsibility on programs, sparring with fellow seniors.
- Travel allowance - Travel to locations is compensated.
- Laptop and phone - Company-provided, including all the tools you need.
- Pension scheme and training budget - Employer contribution plus a generous training budget.
