World's longest immersed tunnel.
In Denmark and Germany, Boskalis and Van Oord JV was awarded the contract for the dredging of a tunnel trench in the seabed over a distance of 16 kilometers. The dredged material was reused to create a new recreational nature reserve area on the Danish side of the Fehmarnbelt. Also this project had a large civil scope for the construction of quay walls and harbour dikes.
